New Delhi: The Indian bowlers delivered an exceptional performance in the first session on Day 4, putting England in massive trouble. Akash Deep removed Harry Brook at the stroke of lunch as the hosts post 98/4 in the morning session. He bowled a full-length delivery and Brook bends across to sweep, but the ball sneaks through to crash into middle stump.
England’s batters struggled to perform against the fired-up Indian pace attack after the late drama on Day 3, when Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj were involved in a heated exchange with opener Zak Crawley. Siraj removed Duckett in the sixth over on Day 4 on 12. He bowled a length delivery outside off and the English opener looked to heave the pull down the ground but got the thick edge and picked out Bumrah at mid-on.
Siraj picked up his second wicket of the innings by dismissing Ollie Pope on 4. He got the ball to nip back in and hit Pope on the front pad. The England batter looked to play it down the ground, but his poor footwork cost him his wicket.
The Men in Blue continued to dominate the first session as Nitish Reddy dismissed Crawley on 22. The all-rounder bowled a full delivery swinging away outside off, and it lured Crawly to play a drive, but he got a thick outside edge, and the ball flew to Jaiswal at gully.
