Gopinath ji became thieves for a devotee

Devotees of Lord Jagannath believe that the heart of God is so soft that he is so soft that he never lets the call sought from the minds of his devotees to go empty. This is the reason that stories related to Lord Jagannath live on the tongue of his devotees.

The child of Orissa tells a new story related to Lord Jagannath. Devotees say that we also find evidence of these stories. There is a similar story that devotees still remember in Remuna, Orissa. According to this story, Jagannath himself became a thief for a devotee. Today we are going to tell you this mythological story.

Gopinath Kheerchora Temple is located in Remuna

There is a place in Orissa, Remuna, where a grand temple of Gopinath ji is built. Today this temple is known as Gopinath Kheerchora. In this temple, Kheer is offered to Lord Ji at night in seven muds of earthen mud for centuries and then the same enjoyment is distributed among the devotees as a prasad. This practice has been going on for centuries.

A mythological story is behind being famous by the name Kheerchora

Once upon a time, Madhav Das, a saint of Vrindavan, was going to see Jagannath ji. On the way, the Gopinath temple of Remuna was lying, he thought that today I see God, I am on fast for three days, I will open the fast with the offerings of God. Here God was offered Kheer in the Sakor daily, which was later distributed as Prasad. On that day too, money was done but Madhav Das’s number came to an end. The priest said that the offerings have ended. When Madhav Das sat under a tree outside the temple, he started thinking that Jagannath is the grain of the whole world, but the food did not come at your door, how can this happen and started resting there. On the same night, Lord Jagannath appeared to the priest of that temple in a dream and said, “Wake up, one of my devotees is hungry, sitting under the tree, bring him kheer.” The priest said that God distributed the kheer of the seven actions with my hands, then where will the kheer come from. God said no, I stole a Sakora Kheer for my dear devotee, which is kept in the same temple. The priest’s sleep broke, he ran towards the temple and went and saw that there was a Sakora filled with kheer there. Absolutely hot and fresh. The priest went to give these kheer devotees to Madhav Das under the tree. Bhole devotee Raj should accept this offerings. Madhav Das ji said that kheer was over, did you bring it back again. The priest did not say, God became a thief for his devotee. God has sent this Kheer for you, he had saved it for you. Madhav Das started to eat kheer. He started dancing in the temple courtyard in the morning and where my God becomes a thief for the devotees. These are my kheerchaura. Since then, this temple was named Kheerchaura. Even today, Kheer is enjoyed in the same way which is distributed to the devotees.
