Longest over in IPL: Arshdeep Singh joins Mohammed Siraj, Hardik Pandya in unwanted list

New Delhi: Punjab Kings (PBKS) pacer Arshdeep Singh joined an unwanted list after bowling an 11-ball over in his side’s clash against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Tuesday. Arshdeep equalled the unwanted record for the longest over in IPL history with his eleven deliveries in an over against the Titans.

The incident took place in the final over of the Gujarat Titans’ innings, who lost the toss and were invited to bat first in the game by Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer. Arshdeep was given the responsibility to bowl the last over and close the GT innings. It turned out to be a chaotic over as the left-arm pacer ended up bowling four wides and one no-ball before completing six legal deliveries.

Bowling against Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatia, Arshdeep started the over with a wide followed by a dot ball. He bowled another dot ball before Tewatia pulled him away for a four on the third delivery. Arshdeep missed his length and bowled a height no-ball next, followed by two back-to-back wides.

The left-arm pacer nailed a dot ball on the free hit delivery and gave away a single on the penultimate delivery of the over. He bowled another wide and then closed the over with a dot ball. Arshdeep conceded 12 runs of the last over, with GT getting 5 runs from extras. It also took the pacer 11 deliveries to complete the over, the joint-most by any bowler in the league.

Arshdeep joined the likes of Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur in the unwanted list of bowlers to have bowled the longest over (11 balls) in the IPL. He became the sixth bowler to bowl an 11-ball over in the IPL.
