Kanpur. A girl resident of Kishore Nagar, Kanpur in UP has made serious allegations regarding her married life. She has filed a police complaint against her husband and in-laws. The girl says that she was married to a young man resident of Hamirpur on 25 April 2025 with full customs and pomp. On the wedding, her father had spent around Rs 38 lakh on hotel, jewellery, catering and other arrangements. The family hoped that the daughter’s new life would be happy, but after marriage, life became hell.

Allegations regarding wedding night and husband’s behavior

According to the victim, on 26th April she left and reached her in-laws’ house. Within the first four days of marriage, she started doubting her husband’s behaviour. She alleges that her husband maintained distance from her and did not even celebrate the wedding night. The wife says, “I asked about the wedding night several times, but he kept postponing it every time. Later I felt that he was not physically capable. I had been cheated.”

Stayed together for a month, did not establish relationship even after repeated requests

After a few days she returned to her parents’ home. After this the husband took her to Noida, where she was kept in her elder uncle’s flat. The girl says that despite living together there for about a month, the husband did not have physical relations with her. During this time she suspected that her husband was impotent.

Allegations of assurances and threats in the name of treatment

The victim alleges that when she talked about this to her father-in-law and his elder brother, they were first explained to her and assured of getting treatment. It was said that the son would be treated and the entire expense would be borne by the family. But when she objected to this situation, she was allegedly threatened. The girl says that she was asked to bring five lakh more rupees so that the treatment could be done. If he refused, he was threatened with defamation and ruining the family’s honour. The girl alleges that the in-laws hid the truth about the son and also wasted the huge expenditure on the marriage.

Ultimately, the upset girl returned to her father’s house and lodged a report against her husband, father-in-law and uncle at Rawatpura police station in Kanpur. On the basis of the complaint, the police have registered a case under relevant sections and started investigation.
