When Will the Liquor Shop Be Shut In Bengaluru

Liquor shops will remain closed for three days in Bengaluru due to festivals lined up in August. Alcohol shops will remain closed on August 15, August 16 and August 27.

The first official dry day falls on 15 August (Friday), marking Independence Day. As per national law, this is a compulsory dry day observed across India. All liquor outlets, including bars, pubs, wine stores, and restaurants serving alcohol, will remain shut.

The second dry day falls on the very next day of Independence Day, August 16, which is Janmashtami, celebrated as the birth of Lord Krishna. Although not uniformly observed as a dry day across all states, Karnataka observes the day as a dry day and has historically imposed ban on sales of liquor on this sacred festival.

The last and third day to be observed as dry day in Bengaluru will fall on August 27, Wednesday on Ganesh Chaturthi. And this too is expected to be a dry day in Bengaluru and other parts of Karnataka.
