The unusual and heart-stopping visuals quickly went viral on social media, drawing widespread attention due to the unexpected gentleness displayed by the big cat. Locals described the moment as both astonishing and alarming, given the potential danger such close encounters pose.
In another incident from the Rajula area, a lion reportedly entered the courtyard of a residential building, wandered around for some time and eventually returned to the forest without causing any harm. Though no injuries were reported, the sight of a wild predator inside a residential compound further heightened anxiety among residents.
Amreli district has been witnessing frequent wildlife activity, with increasing encounters involving both lions and leopards. Several videos circulating online show clashes between lions and leopards in and around villages, underscoring the growing overlap between animal habitats and human settlements. In a separate incident, a leopard was seen roaming freely near the Manmandir on Chhatdia Road in Rajula. The animal was captured on camera walking along the road and the footage also went viral.
The repeated sightings of wild animals in populated areas have left villagers fearful, especially during early morning and late evening hours. Residents are now urging the Forest Department to take immediate and effective measures to monitor and regulate wildlife movement, strengthen safety mechanisms and ensure protection for both people and animals.
