Inteha Ho Gayi, Intezaar Ki… that’s exactly how Abhinay Deo felt after waiting three years to see his creation, led by Karisma Kapoor, finally see the light of the day.
“[The waiting time] is always a frustrating period. But then, I am a believer that everything has its own time. When it comes, everything will be fine. And I’m more than ecstatic now,” Deo tells mid-day.

The seven-episode Zee5 series — also starring Jisshu Sengupta, Surya Sharma, Soni Razdan, and Helen — is a psychological crime thriller set in Kolkata. It follows Kapoor’s depressed and alcoholic cop, Rita Brown, as she investigates a series of murders. In her interview with mid-day, Kapoor had revealed that she initially turned down the show — June 2). Deo shares that he knew he had to put his best foot forward to change her mind. “It was quite a challenge. I just honestly put everything on the table, and told her what Rita Brown is all about. That she has never done anything close to it, and probably never will. If the content is compelling enough, actors can see themselves in it. After that point, there was no going back because she was committed to it.”
