Mumbai Father Jailed For Teen Pregnancy: Recently a case came to light in Mumbai which shook everyone. A 53-year-old father repeatedly sexually assaulted his 15-year-old daughter from 2018 to 2020 and made her pregnant. This case reached the special POCSO court and the court sentenced the guilty father to life imprisonment.
Had the daughter really changed her statement?
The court admitted that there was emotional pressure and family influence on the daughter, due to which she had changed her statements. He admitted to fear and mental stress. But DNA testing made the evidence clear that the accused was her biological father. Judge Sabina A Malik said the scientific evidence outweighed earlier statements.
Is this a common case?
This case is extremely rare. According to reports, two other men, aged 29 and 27, were given six months simple jail on charges of consensual sexual intercourse and criminal intimidation. This shows that the justice system relies on caution and DNA evidence in such cases.
Big revelation in Nashik too – life imprisonment for father’s murder
Not only in Mumbai, but also in Nashik, a young man was given life imprisonment for killing his father. 30-year-old Dinesh Barela committed murder with a wooden log in November 2021 after an argument with his father. The court also fined him Rs 1,000 and ordered him to undergo an additional one month in jail in default of payment of the fine.
Are such cases increasing in the society?
The thing to think about is why such brutal crimes are happening in small towns and big cities. Is this only a result of family tension or is there a need to sharpen the vigilance of society and law for the safety of children?

In this case, the court punished the father and also gave a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the victim. This shows that the law, though complex, is ultimately capable of providing justice to the victim.
