Leh Violence: Things in Leh are still not normal. Four protesters were killed and several injured in a clash with security forces. In view of these situations, the district officer has ordered the school and college to be closed for the next two days.
Leh Violence: The situation in Leh still remains tense. Curfew remained in force on Thursday, and before that four protesters were killed in a clash with the security forces. About 90 people have been injured so far in this violent performance. In view of the situation, Leh District Magistrate Romil Singh Donak ordered the closure of all government and private schools, colleges and other educational institutions for two days from Friday. Along with this, Anganwadi centers will also be closed.

According to media reports, the situation in curfew areas is under control and no more untoward incident has been reported at the moment. Meanwhile, climate activist Sonam Wangchuk had to stop the hunger strike that had been going on in the middle. He strongly condemned the violence and said, “This is the saddest day for Ladakh. Our movement has been peaceful for the last five years. Appeal to the youth is to stop the violence immediately, as it will weaken our movement.” However, the central government accused Wangchuk of responsibility for the mob violence and said it was inspired by his inflammatory statements.
Curfew continues in Leh
There was peace in the Union Territory of Ladakh on Thursday and the police and paramilitary forces kept the curfew implemented in Leh city amidst strict monitoring. The curfew has been extended one more day on Thursday evening. Protests demanding state status in Leh on Wednesday became violent. Four people were killed and around 90 people were injured in this violence. After this, more than 50 people were detained.

Action began blaming Sonam Wangchuk responsible
The central government has initiated action by holding climate activist Sonam Wangchuk responsible for this violence. The CBI has started investigating the foreign funding case against Wangchuk’s NGO, Himalayan Institute of Alternative Ladakh. The government has also canceled their NGO foreign funding license. Now the CBI team is checking the NGO account and records.
