Laxmi Cricket Club enters semifinals with win over Jammu Warriors

Excelsior Sports Correspondent JAMMU, Jan 15: Laxmi Cricket Club registered a convincing victory over Jammu Warriors Cricket Club to book a place in the semifinals of the Rajinder Saini & Sandeep Singh Memorial Under-16 (T-30) Cricket Tournament, as the second quarterfinal was played at Parade Ground, here today.

After winning the toss, Jammu Warriors elected to bat first and posted a total of 152 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 25 overs. Vivan Choudhary top-scored for Jammu Warriors with a fine knock of 47 runs, which included seven boundaries. He was well supported by Vikram Aditya, who contributed 31 runs with five boundaries, while Arnav Singh added 24 runs. For Laxmi Cricket Club, Sajjad Ahmad delivered a brilliant bowling performance, claiming 4 wickets for just 14 runs. Dishneet and Tazim Imtiaz chipped in with one wicket each.
In reply, Laxmi Cricket Club chased down the target, scoring 153 runs for 8 wickets in 25 overs. Md. Rehan Roshan anchored the innings with an unbeaten 53 runs, hitting 11 boundaries. Vansh scored 37 runs, including one six and three boundaries, while Nidhirajan added 21 runs with five boundaries.
For his outstanding all-round performance, Sajjad Ahmad was declared the Player of the Match. Tomorrow’s last quarterfinal of the tournament will be played between Super Striker Cricket Club and MIER Cricket Club.
