Lamborghini has unveiled a new Temerario destined for the Italian State Police, with the high-performance supercar set to support critical services including the emergency transport of organs and medical supplies. The car was presented at Lamborghini’s Sant’Agata Bolognese headquarters in the presence of Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi, Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann and the company’s Board of Directors.
The ceremony was also attended by Prefect Renato Cortese, Central Director of the traffic, railway and special units police of the Italian State Police, representing the Chief of Police and Director General of Public Security Prefect Vittorio Pisani. The new Temerario continues a partnership between and the Italian State Police that began more than two decades ago.

The super sports car will be used for the most important services to including the emergency transport of organs and medical supplies, joining the Lamborghini cars already in service with the Italian State Police. Lamborghini said the new vehicle marks another stage in its long-running relationship with the police force, with performance and technology being used for specialist public-service operations.
The Temerario features a blue and white police livery with “Polizia” badging on the doors. It also has a roof-mounted light bar and tri-color graphics inspired by the Italian flag. A short video released by the Italian State Police appears to show a stock interior with black and tan leather. Additional equipment, including communications systems, could be fitted before the car enters operational service.
Partnership Began With Gallardo In 2004
With the new model, Automobili Lamborghini and the Italian State Police renew a collaboration that began in 2004. The journey began with the first Gallardo, which as early as September of that same year carried out its first organ transport.
The relationship continued with the Gallardo LP 560-4 and the Huracán, deployed over the years along the country’s main motorway arteries, and joined by the Urus Performante, in service since 2023.
In total, six vehicles have entered the fleet of the Italian State Police over more than twenty years, playing a part in over two hundred organ transport missions across Italy.
In several cases the Lamborghini police cars have helped save human lives as well as participating in more than 1,500 road safety education events promoting safe driving.
920-PS Plug-In Hybrid Powertrain
The Temerario is powered by an all-new 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine paired with three electric motors, for a total output of 920 CV, and represents a new milestone in the technological history of Lamborghini.
The production Temerario uses a plug-in hybrid powertrain comprising the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, three electric motors, an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and a 3.8 kWh battery pack.
The system produces a combined 907 hp (677 kW / 920 PS) and 538 lb-ft (730 Nm) of torque. Lamborghini says the model can accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 2.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 213 mph (343 km/h).
The Temerario delivers a combination of performance and efficiency which, in the hands of the police, translates into a tool capable of accomplishing the most delicate missions in the shortest possible time.
Designed For Critical Missions
The Temerario’s primary specialist role will be emergency transport rather than conventional traffic enforcement. Its deployment is intended for situations in which organs and other medical supplies need to be moved quickly between locations.
The use of high-performance vehicles for these missions builds on the experience of Lamborghini’s earlier police cars, which have already been involved in hundreds of organ transportation operations.
Since Lamborghini and the Italian State Police began their collaboration with the Gallardo in 2004, over two hundred organs have been transported through the initiative.
More Than 1,500 Road Safety Events
The partnership has also extended beyond emergency medical transport.
The Lamborghini police cars have participated in more than 1,500 road safety education events designed to promote responsible and safe driving.
The vehicles have therefore served both a specialist operational function and a public-facing role in road-safety awareness programmes.
‘Motori Della Polizia’ Book Presented
During the event, the book “I motori della Polizia” was also presented.
Produced by the Institutional Communications Office of the Italian State Police and published by Giunti Editore and Giorgio Nada Editore, the volume traces the history of the vehicles that have supported the Institution’s activities over the decades.
Through cars, motorcycles and special vehicles, it also recounts a significant part of the history of the Italian State Police and of the country itself.
