Lalu family is in Delhi with a double agenda. He will take the final decision on seat sharing in the Grand Alliance and will appear in the court in the ‘Land for Job’ case. This tour may have an impact on Bihar elections.
Patna: Ahead of Bihar elections 2025, RJD supremo Lalu Yadav and Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav reached Delhi today along with former Chief Minister Rabri Devi. The Delhi entry of these people is in discussion this time for two reasons. First, to take the final decision on seat sharing in the Grand Alliance and second, to register one’s presence in the court in the ‘Land for Job’ case.
Today Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi and Tejashwi Yadav left for Delhi. According to sources, he will face face to face with Rahul Gandhi late in the evening. In this meeting, a final decision on seat sharing of the Grand Alliance can be taken.
Political drama of seat sharing
Addressing the media from Patna airport, Tejashwi Yadav said, “Everything is fine on seat sharing. A consensus has been reached between all the constituent parties of the grand alliance. The public will give its decision on November 14.” It is believed that this meeting is not just a formality. The complexities of seat sharing between Congress and RJD are still being resolved. The presence of Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge makes it even more serious.
Appearance in Land for Job
After the political meeting, this is the second important agenda of the Lalu family. Appearance in ‘Land for Job’ case in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court. In this scam, it is alleged that during the Railway Ministry between 2004-2009, properties and lands were transferred to the name of the family in exchange for Group-D jobs. The court has directed all the accused to be present in person. Now the decision to be pronounced on October 13 is being considered very important on both political and legal fronts. If proven guilty, Lalu family may be sentenced to up to 7 years in jail.
Election timing and political importance
The first phase of voting in Bihar is to be held on 6 November. In such a situation, the timing of the Delhi tour is being considered an important part of RJD’s strategy. Both seat sharing and court appearance incidents can affect the election environment of 2025. Experts believe that if the decision in the court does not go in favor of RJD, then it will affect the voters and candidates of the Grand Alliance as well. At the same time, the final decision on seat sharing can stabilize the election strategy of the Grand Alliance.
