New Delhi. An explosion took place in a moving car at 6.52 pm on Monday evening near Gate No. 1 of Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi. In this blast, 9 people including 2 women were killed and 24 people were injured. CCTV footage before the blast has surfaced, in which a white i20 car is seen leaving the parking lot. Police suspect that terrorist Dr. Mohammad Omar, who was part of the Faridabad module, may be involved in this.
Was Dr. Omar the only one in the car?
CCTV footage shows that a person wearing a black mask was sitting in the car. According to police sources, this terrorist is said to be Dr. Umar. The same car remained parked in the parking lot about two and a half hours before the blast, i.e. from 3:19 pm to 6:48 pm. Umar remained sitting in the car continuously and did not get out. Was he waiting for someone, or preparing to explode?

Faridabad module and explosives seized
Police suspect that the blast was related to the Faridabad module. Recently, Jammu and Kashmir Police had seized 2900 kg of explosives by conducting operations in Faridabad and Lucknow. In this action, Dr. Muzammil Shakeel and female doctor Shaheen Shahid were arrested. Security agencies believe that this attack was carried out in a hurry after their arrest.
Was it a suicide attack?
Delhi Police has registered an FIR under UAPA and started investigation. No evidence of RDX was found on the spot, but investigation is going on from the angle of suicide attack. After the blast, Delhi Police conducted an overnight search operation in Paharganj, Daryaganj and nearby hotels.
Scene and precautions after the blast
CCTV footage after the blast shows that people were running away in fear. The security and medical team immediately started the rescue operation. America, Britain and France issued advisories to their citizens to stay away from the Red Fort and crowded areas.
