Friday Lakshmi Puja
The goddess of wealth is Lakshmi and her day is Friday. Mother Lakshmi is worshiped on this day. Devotees do everything with devotion to please Mata Rani, so that she remains happy. At the same time, on the day of Goddess Lakshmi, it is said that sour foods should not be consumed on Friday. Famous astrologer Dr. Basavaraj Guruji has explained about this and why it is considered prohibited.
Guruji says that the day of Mahalakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity, is celebrated on Friday. It is believed that Lakshmi loves sweet things, hence on this day Lakshmi Puja and Kumkumarchana is done to get the blessings of the mother. It is said that it is auspicious not to eat sour food during puja. If a devotee performs the puja while avoiding sour foods like tamarind, lemon, pickle, vinegar, orange, then Mahalakshmi gets pleased quickly.
Eating sour foods is an insult to Goddess Lakshmi?
He says that from the religious point of view, consumption of sour foods is considered an insult to God and it is believed that it prevents positive energy from entering the body. The concept of fasting is also related to this. Scientifically fasting purifies the body. Religiously it creates inclination towards God. Spiritually it removes the effects of inauspicious planets and brings blessings of auspicious planets. Those who worship Santoshi Mata also avoid sour foods.
Mother Lakshmi loves sweets
Basavaraj Guruji said that lighting a ghee lamp on Friday, offering sweets and not eating sour things increases the results of the puja. By this one gets God’s blessings and wishes are fulfilled. It is believed that women especially get the benefits of long marital life, early marriage, good health and divine influence. Guruji has advised not to eat sour things from sunrise to sunset, which brings immense auspiciousness.
