Lady Hiding In Dehradun: Rahul Gandhi’s Cryptic Mention Amid SIR Row Sparks Buzz; Who Is She?

Rahul Gandhi’s blistering attack on PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and CEC Gyanesh Kumar sent people speculating as he mentioned a ‘lady hiding in Dehradun’.

Speaking on the alleged ‘vote chori’ with INDIA bloc leaders by his side, the Lok Sabha LoP said that the ‘political resistance’ would continue alongside a legal fight through the judicial institution, asserting that those behind ‘vote chori’ would be brought to justice. His list included PM Modi, HM Shah, the CEC and a cryptic mention of the lady in Dehradun.

“It is our commitment to you that the people who have done this, PM Modi, (Amit) Shah, Gyanesh Kumar, the lady who’s hiding right now in Dehradun, and others are going to be brought to justice,” Gandhi said.

Rahul Gandhi’s cryptic mention has sparked a wave of speculation, with the leading name being Seema Khanna, the director general of ECI’s IT division.

She came under fire after an Indian Express report revealed that two Election Commissioners, Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, had flagged centralisation of control of the ERONet, the electoral roll software.

The report had suggested that the two ECs had raised concern regarding EROs being unable to upload data due to restricted access from Delhi headquarters.

The portal incorporated in ECINet was designed to allow state-level officials to update voter records. Khanna had joined the ECI on deputation in 2025 after being associated with the National Informatics Centre (NIC).

Khanna, as being the lady hiding in Dehradun, was also suggested by AICC media coordinator Harmeet Kaur.

“Where is Seema Khanna? Is she hiding in Dehradun? And who is shielding her? Remember, ECI data is still under her control. Who is protecting her, and what are they trying to hide?” Kaur posted on X while quoting another tweet of Rahul Gandhi’s video.
