Bengaluru: South United FC struck twice at the death to snatch a dramatic 2-1 victory over FC Real Bengaluru in the KSFA Super Division Championship here on Tuesday.
Jobin Johnson put Real ahead from the penalty spot in the eighth minute, but substitutes Mustafa Shaikh and Ringsangami LW turned the contest on its head with goals in the 90th and 90+4th minutes respectively.
Elsewhere, Bengaluru FC and Parikrma FC played out a goalless draw, while FC Bengaluru United came from behind to beat Kickstart FC 2-1. N Rakesh Singh (7th) gave Kickstart an early lead before Abdul Hannan (74th) and Akshunna Tyagi (82nd) completed the turnaround.
South United made a similar turnaround after Real earned an early penalty after an eventful passage of play. Sagar Powar rattled the crossbar from outside the box and Ryan Wilfred S, attempting to control the rebound, was brought down by Noel S.
SUFC gradually grew into the contest and Euhan Kuruvilla headed over from a corner in the 22nd minute. Real responded with a spell of pressure from the flanks through Altab Hussain and Radhakanta Singh.
Left-back Pwilao Brahma, lively at both ends, shot over following a neat combination in the 41st minute before Altab forced goalkeeper Sam George into a diving save moments later. Daniyal headed home from the rebound, only to be flagged offside.
Real held firm until the final minute of regulation time when Mustafa tapped home from close range. Four minutes later, a poorly cleared corner fell invitingly for Ringsangami, who found space inside the box and blasted home the winner.
