Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will look to bounce back from a demoralizing defeat when they host table-toppers Gujarat Titans (GT) in match 39 of IPL 2025 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Monday (April 21).
Ajinkya Rahane-led KKR head into the match on the back of stunning 16-run loss in a low-scoring contest against Punjab Kings, while Shubman Gill’s Gujarat Titans are fresh from their fifth win of the campaign – an impressive 7-wicket victory against Delhi capitals (DC).
Well on course to chasing down 112 at New PCA Stadium and sealing their fourth win of the season, KKR’s batting collapsed from 62/2 to 95 all out to hand PBKS a distinctive record of the lowest total defended in IPL history.
GT, on the other hand, chased down a massive target of 204 with 3 balls to spare at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where the home side rode on Jos Buttler’s unbeaten 97 off 54 balls to get home.
Now, KKR will be desperate for a win to stay alive in the early playoff race when they lock horns with GT for the fifth time in IPL history and for the second time at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Here is a look at the KKR vs GT head to head numbers:
