Amidst the difficulties being faced by Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) users due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, Mahanagar Gas, a piped natural gas supply company, on Tuesday assured that the supply will continue without any interruption. Besides, starting a special initiative, the company also announced to provide free gas to new domestic customers. According to an official statement, this company, which serves customers in Maharashtra and Karnataka, has also waived the registration fee for commercial customers using piped natural gas.
The company will provide free gas
Managing Director of the company, Ashu Singhal, said that we are fully committed to the uninterrupted supply of PNG (Pipe Natural Gas) and CNG (Compressed Natural Gas). We are constantly working towards improving our efforts to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers. The company said that all the new domestic registrations for PNG between March 16 and April 30 will be given free gas worth Rs 500. Apart from this, a discount of Rs 1,000 will be given in the gas bill of customers living in those new buildings where the number of people taking PNG connections is more than 60 percent.
Apart from this, the company is giving an instant discount of Rs 500 to every customer who registers through the web. Also, if gas is not used at any time, the minimum charge during that time will also be waived. The company has also promised that it will soon introduce the facility of ‘zero upfront registration fee’ (no initial fee), under which payment will have to be made only when the connection is activated.
Registration fee waived
In case of commercial customers using PNG, the statement said that MGL is waiving the registration fees. Besides this, the company also said that the company itself will bear the entire cost of creating the necessary infrastructure related to gas supply. The company further said that MGL will continue to strengthen its infrastructure as well as improve its customer engagement efforts to ensure reliable supply of gas and better service across all its geographies.
Currently, MGL is providing its services in areas like Mumbai, Thane, Mira-Bhayandar, Navi Mumbai, Raigarh, Ratnagiri, Chitradurga, Davangere, Latur and Dharashiv. The company said that it has taken several important steps to maintain uniformity in the supply of gas, so that customers always get reliable and safe fuel for their daily use.
