Kishan, Iyer hit fifties as India post 191/8 against New Zealand

Hamilton: Ishan Kishan and skipper Shreyas Iyer struck explosive half-centuries, but New Zealand pacers, led by Adam Milne’s 4/19, fought back to restrict India to 191 for eight in the fifth and final T20I here on Sunday.

Milne dismissed Abhishek Sharma (1) and Sanju Samson (4) in successive overs during the powerplay before Kishan (61 off 32 balls; 5×4, 5×6) and Iyer (50 off 23 balls; 3×4, 4×6) consolidated India’s innings with an entertaining 93-run stand off just 43 balls.

Nathan Smith (2/38 in three overs) and Blair Tickner (2/38) then derailed India’s recovery in the middle overs.

India have an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match T20I series.
