Barabanki Kisan Pathshala 8.0: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched Kisan Pathshala 8.0 in Daulatpur village of Barabanki. He interacted directly with the farmers and discussed Rabi season farming, technological innovation, multi-crop farming and MSP system.
Barabanki: On Friday, December 12, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Mother Earth provides grains to fill our stomachs, but her health should also be good. If the earth remains healthy, not only humans but the entire creation will remain safe. He said that many programs are currently running for this. He said that the Prime Minister’s Natural Farming Campaign is a part of this series. He believes that the easiest way to increase a farmer’s income is to reduce costs and increase production. For this, timely seeds, fertilizers, irrigation and scientific help are necessary. The Chief Minister had participated in the Progressive Farmers Conference and Kheti Ki Baat Khet Par program organized in Daulatpur village of Barabanki. During this, he inaugurated Kisan Pathshala 8.0 of Rabi season.
CM Yogi’s direct communication with farmers
In this program in which he interacted directly with the farmers after reaching the fields, Chief Minister Yogi discussed in detail the agricultural progress of Uttar Pradesh, multi-crop farming, technological innovation, transparency of the MSP system and the efforts being made to increase the income of farmers. Progressive farmers were also honored in the program and checks and acceptance letters were given to farmers who were beneficiaries of various schemes. On this occasion, improved varieties of crops, vegetables, agricultural equipment and FPO based innovations were also observed in the exhibition, while the advanced farming model of Daulatpur was said to be an inspiration for other districts of the state.
UP developed due to the vision of Prime Minister Modi
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Uttar Pradesh is the most populous state in the country, where 25 crore people reside. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state has made significant progress in the direction of overall development in the last 11 years. Fertile land, ample water resources and better connectivity have made the state a leader in the fields of agriculture and infrastructure.
Contribution of Uttar Pradesh in agricultural production
According to Chief Minister Yogi, Uttar Pradesh’s share in the total cultivable land of the country is 11 percent, while the state’s contribution in the national food grain supply is 21 percent. The government has ensured increase in production and reduction in costs by providing necessary facilities to the farmers from seed to market. Soil health cards, crop insurance, sugarcane payments, expansion of agricultural markets and storage and processing facilities have benefited the farmers.
Farmers are getting the benefit of transparent system and technological progress
According to Chief Minister Yogi, in the last eight years, MSP payments are being received directly by the farmers due to which the role of middlemen has ended. In the field of irrigation, campaigns to provide water to every farm, micro irrigation, network of canals, solar pumps and water conservation have been given impetus. Farmers have been connected to scientific methods by promoting drone dosing, weed control, soil testing and natural farming. He said that efforts like food processing, cold storage, logistics, digital mandi and e-NAM to connect farmers with entrepreneurship have provided employment opportunities on a large scale. Farmers’ produce is now easily reaching national and international markets through expressways and logistics parks. With the support of the World Bank, agricultural reforms have been accelerated in 28 low production districts, especially Purvanchal and Bundelkhand, under the UP-Agriculture project in six years at a cost of Rs 4 thousand crore.
Agricultural innovation necessary in different climatic zones
Chief Minister Yogi said that there are nine geographical climatic zones in Uttar Pradesh and work is going on to provide advanced seeds and technology according to them. The Chief Minister said that compared to 2017, today’s record production and transparent system have given a new direction to the progress of the state. Agricultural growth rate has been increased from 8.6 percent to 17.7 percent. Chief Minister Yogi said, production of 250 quintal potatoes and banana worth Rs 2 lakh in one acre is a successful example of low cost and high production. Cooperative farming is being promoted through FPO. Padmashree Ramsharan Verma and respected progressive farmers are excellent examples of this change, whose success is inspiring other farmers of the state.
CM expressed gratitude to progressive farmers
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that to understand the real challenges of farming, Kisan Pathshala has been organized in the farm of progressive farmer Ramsharan Verma. The main objective of this program is to understand farming by going to the fields, seeing its problems closely and ensuring the well-being of farmers through more production at less cost. Thanking the progressive farmers, the Chief Minister said that their hard work and innovation has given Uttar Pradesh a new identity in the agriculture sector. He also urged all Annadata farmers to keep making innovative efforts in their respective areas so that the level of farming can be further improved.
New experiments are continuously being done in the agriculture sector – CM
The Chief Minister said that new experiments are being done continuously in the agriculture sector and by timely cultivation, use of quality seeds and proper care by the farmers, more production can be achieved at lower cost. The land of the state is extremely fertile and farmers can make better use of it with their technology and management ability. The Chief Minister said that the double engine government gives top priority to the welfare of Annadata farmers. Considering the important role of farmers in building a developed India, the government is providing them all possible support. On the inauguration of Kisan Pathshala, he congratulated all the farmers and wished for their bright future.
The real gold of the state is small and marginal farmers – Padmashree Ramsharan Verma
Padmashree Ramsharan Verma, while welcoming Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and all the dignitaries, said that the Chief Minister along with his cabinet ministers has reached the farms of the farmers to see their farming. He said that the Chief Minister often calls small and marginal farmers the real gold of the state and considers increase in the income of farmers as the cornerstone of the resolve for a developed Uttar Pradesh. Verma thanked the government for the facilities and grants being provided to the farmers and gave credit for their economic progress to the government of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He stressed the need for farmers to focus on farming in line with market demand, while IFFCO Chairman Dilip Sanghani underlined the importance of enhancing the prosperity of villages by linking cooperation with agriculture.
Barabanki becomes example of model district – Agriculture Minister
In the program, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi said that this is the first time that the Chief Minister of the state has come to the farmer’s field to talk about farming and with the inspiration of Prime Minister Modi, this effort is moving towards a new dimension. He said that the land of farmers in Daulatpur village is literally showering wealth as the farmers here are not dependent on just one crop but are cultivating various crops including banana, potato, tomato, mustard, sugarcane and wheat. Multi-cropping farming and use of new technology is ensuring the progress of farmers and the agricultural landscape of Uttar Pradesh is changing rapidly. He said that Barabanki is emerging as a model district and farmers need to adopt the successful experiments being done here in their respective districts and fields. Shahi also emphasized that Prime Minister Modi talks about doubling the income of farmers and due to the policies of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the income of farmers is rapidly moving towards tripling.
Launch of the eighth edition of Kisan Pathshala
The eighth edition of Kisan Pathshala was inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath by cutting the ribbon. In the program, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath interacted with progressive farmers and also participated in the exhibition. Where he observed improved varieties of vegetables and agricultural products along with Padmashree farmer Ramsharan Verma. At the same time, the Chief Minister also took information about various farming equipment. In the program, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Minister of State for Agriculture Baldev Singh Aulakh, Minister of State for Prisons Suresh Rahi, Minister of State for Food and Logistics and Civil Supplies Satish Chandra Sharma, State President of Kisan Morcha Kameshwar Singh, Chair MLA Sakendra Pratap Verma, Haidergarh MLA Dinesh Rawat, Rudauli MLA Ramchandra Yadav, Scheduled Caste and Tribe Commission Chairman Baijnath Rawat, Barabanki District Panchayat President Rajrani Rawat, Legislative Council members. Angad Singh, Engineer Avnish Kumar Singh, former MP and BJP State General Secretary Priyanka Rawat, former MP Upendra Rawat, IFFCO Vice President Balbir Singh, Agriculture Production Commissioner Deepak Kumar and Principal Secretary (Agriculture) Ravindra Kumar and other dignitaries were present. A short film on the efforts of the state government in the agriculture sector was also screened in the programme.
CM Yogi honored the farmers
In the program, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while handing over the keys of tractors to the farmers, also gave checks and acceptance letters to the farmers who were beneficiaries of various schemes. Among the progressive farmers, Pankaj Kumar, Sanjay Kumar Yadav, Santosh Kumar Singh, Amit Mishra, Chandrashekhar Prajapati, Gurudutt Singh, Gurteg Singh, Dinesh Chandra Verma, Ram Iqbal Verma, Bablu Kashyap and Padmashree farmer Ramsharan Verma were honored. Deshraj, Dinesh Pratap Singh, Dhirendra Verma, Ajay Kumar Verma and Akhilesh Kumar were the beneficiaries to whom checks of various types of grants were given by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Chief Minister counted the success figures
- The Chief Minister enumerated the achievements of the state in agriculture. He said that Uttar Pradesh has 35 percent contribution in wheat production, Uttar Pradesh’s contribution in the total national food grains production is 21 percent.
- Uttar Pradesh alone accounts for 55 percent of the country’s total sugarcane production. He said that we have fixed the MSP of sugarcane at Rs 400, the benefit of which is being given to the farmers.
- In the last 8 years, sugarcane worth more than Rs 2 lakh 92 thousand crore has been paid to the farmers.
- 122 sugar mills are operating in the state.
- Uttar Pradesh ranks first in the country in ethanol production. Now 182 crore liters of ethanol is being produced in the state, up from 41 crore.
- There has been unprecedented growth in the production of horticultural crops and other organic crops including potato and banana production in Uttar Pradesh.
- Uttar Pradesh also ranks first in the country in the production of fruits and vegetables.
- In Uttar Pradesh, most of the farmers are getting the benefit of Kisan Samman Nidhi. 2.86 crore farmers are benefiting from this.
- A seed park is being established in Lucknow in the name of Bharat Ratna Chaudhary Charan Singh, which will become a medium to provide improved seeds.
- The work of establishing Agricultural Science Centers within the state is also being taken forward. Many of these are also functioning as Centers of Excellence.
