Kia India has sent out “Block Your Date” invitation for an event scheduled between July 23 – 28, 2026. While the carmaker hasn’t yet shared any specific details, the Kia Syros EV is expected to make its official debut in the final week of July, ahead of its market launch in August. The Syros EV will be the smallest and most affordable electric Kia offering in India, challenging the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV.
Design Details
The Kia Syros EV has been spied multiple times, with spy shots suggesting that it will retain the original upright and boxy stance of its ICE counterpart. However, it will feature a charging flap integrated into the passenger-side front fender. The front and rear bumpers will also be revised. The electric Syros will feature newly-designed aero-optimized alloy wheels. One of its spied test mules was also seen sporting lime green brake callipers.
EV-Specific Features & ADAS
The interior is likely to remain largely unchanged. However, it could be offered with vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) functionalities along with an ADAS suite. For reference, ADAS was discontinued on the ICE-powered Syros lineup with the 2026 model year update. The EV might also get new cabin theme, seat upholstery and trims.
Battery Options
Similar to its ICE counterpart, the Kia Syros EV will underpin the K1 platform. While official powertrain details are not available at the moment, the electric SUV is expected to be offered with two battery pack options, 42kWh and 49kWh, borrowed from the Hyundai Inster EV.
Expected Prices
Prices of the Syros EV are expected to start around Rs 15 lakh for the entry-level variant and go up to Rs 20 lakh for the top-end trim. Its arch rivals, Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO are currently available in the price range of Rs 12.49 lakh – Rs 17.49 lakh and RS 13.89 lakh – Rs 14.96 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.
