New Delhi: Kia Seltos has earnef 5-star safety rating for both child and adult protection in Bharat NCAP crash tests. The Seltos joins other Hyundai-Kia models that come with the 5-star rating club, along with the Kia Syros and the Hyundai Venue. Kia unveiled the Seltos facelift in 2025 and has hit the mark for owners, and the safety rating adds a feather to its cap.
The Seltos got a near-perfect 31.70 from 32 for adult protection. In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, it scored 15.70/16, making for good protection to the head and pelvis regions of both the driver and the passenger and quite enough protection to the feet of the driver. In the side-movable, deformable barrier test, it got a perfect 16/16, with good protection for the chest, head, abdomen and pelvis regions of the occupants. It also gets an ‘ok’ approval for the side pole collision as well.

In terms of the child occupant safety test, the Seltos comes with a decent 45 out of 49. The tests are conducted with two dummies, an 18-month-old child and a 3-year-old child, mounted on child seats. The 18-month-old dummy took 8/8, and both dummies scored full points in the side impact tests. The Seltos also goes 12/12 CRS (Child Restraint System) and 9/13 in the Vehicle assessment score.

In terms of safety, the Seltos gets 6 airbags, ABS, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), side head protection system (curtain airbags), seat belt reminders, four-wheel disc brakes, and ISOFIX anchor points for child seats as standard across all trims. The higher trims also come with Level 2 ADAS tech with adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist.
Seltos rival against the likes of Skoda Kushaq, Tata Sierra, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, VW Taigun and the lot. The starting price of Seltos is at Rs 10.99 lakh, and for its price bracket, it is well proportionate and feature-packed.
