In such a situation, 01:08 pm will be considered as the day of 15th March. Therefore, Kharmas will start from March 15 this year. It will end on 14th April.
Marriages will resume from April 15
After the end of Kharmas on 14th April, marriages will start once again from 15th April. After this, marriages will continue till the beginning of Chaturmas in July.

Why marriages and other auspicious functions do not take place in Kharmas?
According to Vedic astrology, when Sun is in Jupiter’s zodiac sign, the strength of both Jupiter and Sun planets reduces. For auspiciousness in marriage and other auspicious works, it is necessary for Sun, Jupiter and Venus to be in good position. Due to reduced strength of Sun and Jupiter, auspicious works done during this period do not yield auspicious results. This is the reason why all auspicious works including marriage are prohibited during Kharmas.
