Kharmas 2025 Date: According to the Panchang, when the Sun enters the Sagittarius sign, Kharmas begins. From a religious point of view, this is considered a time of restraint, meditation and introspection. For this reason, auspicious activities like marriage, house warming are prohibited during this period. According to the Panchang, in the year 2025, Kharmas will start from 16th December and will last till 14th January 2026.
Although it is not that no auspicious work can be done for this entire month, despite the auspicious work being prohibited, the time of Kharmas is considered very good for religious activities and spirituality. There are many such tasks mentioned in the scriptures, which if done in Kharmas, one gets virtuous results and does not face any kind of hindrance.
Do this auspicious work during Kharmas!
Worship of Sun God: Worship of Sun God (offering Arghya) in Kharmas is considered especially fruitful. This provides health and radiance.
Worship of Lord Vishnu: It is very auspicious to worship Lord Vishnu, keep fast and recite Vishnu Sahasranama throughout this month.
Pilgrimage: At this time, bathing in holy rivers or traveling to any pilgrimage place is considered salvation.
Donation of food and clothes: Gods and Goddesses are pleased by donating food, warm clothes and blankets to the poor and needy.
Cow Service: Feeding fodder to cows, serving them and donating in a cowshed gives great virtue.
Deep donation: Donating lamps in temples or on the banks of a holy river is also considered auspicious.
Bhagavad Gita Lesson: Reciting or listening to Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta regularly during Kharmas provides mental peace.

If you are planning to build a new building or house, then Bhoomi Pujan and Foundation Pujan can be done in Kharmas, as it does not directly fall in the category of Manglik work (Griha Pravesh). However, do Griha Pravesh only after Kharmas is over.
