Donald Trump called India’s economy dead
Starmer arrives in India with the largest-ever delegation of over 100 CEOs, entrepreneurs, university vice-chancellors and cultural leaders. In July this year, Donald Trump had posted on social media that India’s economy was dead.
The UK PM has responded to Trump with his statement that India’s economy is not “dead”. In July, amid a souring of relations with India over New Delhi’s purchase of Russian oil, Trump had described India as a “dead economy”. He said on Truth Social, “I don’t care what India does to Russia. I don’t care, together they can bring down their dead economies.”
