Keerthy Suresh Wins Best Actress for Paambu Sattai at Tamil Nadu State Film Awards

The Tamil Nadu government has officially announced the State Film Awards for the period from 2016 to 2022, celebrating outstanding achievements in Tamil cinema across multiple years.

The long-delayed declaration has brought immense joy to the film fraternity, recognising several memorable performances and impactful films.

One of the biggest highlights of the announcement was National Award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh, who clinched the Best Actress award for her compelling performance in the 2017 action-thriller Paambu Sattai. Directed by Adam Dasan, the film featured Keerthy in the role of Veni, a character that resonated strongly with audiences and showcased her emotional range, intensity, and commanding screen presence.

The official award ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 13 at Chennai’s prestigious Kalaivanar Arangam. The star-studded event is expected to witness several leading personalities from the industry, with Keerthy receiving her well-earned honour on a grand stage.

This latest accolade further strengthens Keerthy Suresh’s illustrious career. She had earlier won the National Film Award for Best Actress at the 66th National Film Awards for her acclaimed portrayal of legendary actress Savitri in the 2018 Telugu biographical drama Mahanati.

On the work front, Keerthy Suresh has an exciting lineup ahead. She is set to headline Akka under the Yash Raj Films banner, a high-octane project that is already generating significant buzz for its pan-India scale. She will also share screen space with Vijay Deverakonda in Rowdy Janardhana, a collaboration that promises an intense cinematic experience.

In addition, Keerthy is making her return to Malayalam cinema with Thottam, starring opposite Antony Varghese, popularly known as Pepe. She also has an untitled project lined up with filmmaker Praveen S. Vijaay and actor-director Mysskin, hinting at a gripping, content-driven venture.
