Kedarnath Yatra 2025: The Kedarnath Yatra, which was temporarily suspended for the last four days due to heavy downpour, landslides and falling of boulders on the footpath, was resumed on Saturday. More than a thousand pilgrims left for Kedarnath Dham on August 9 from Sonprayag. Following a thorough assessment of the Yatra route and weather conditions, the pilgrims were allowed to go to Kedarnath Dham.
For the past few days, the Kedarnath Yatra has been halted for four days due to heavy rain and landslides in multiple districts of Uttarakhand. There was a landslide from the hill near Munkatiya on the highway between Gaurikund and Kedarnath. Boulders were also falling at many places on the footpath from Gaurikund to Kedarnath Dham due to rain. In view of this, the administration had temporarily halted the movement along the route for the safety of the passengers.
Thousands of pilgrims departed from Sonprayag on Saturday under police protection. Earlier, the Badrinath National Highway was made operational on Friday evening.
