KBC 18: Preity Zinta Says Amitabh Bachchan Is Her Children’s Favourite Actor, Reveals Why

Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 went on air tonight (August 10). Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta, along with Aamir Khan, were the first guests of the season. They were promoting their film, Batwara 1947. After clearing the initial stage of the game, Preity joined Aamir and Sunny on the hot seat. Amitabh, who has worked with the actress in ArmaanKabhi Alvida Naa KehnaJhoom Barabar Jhoom, and Lakshya, asked her about ignoring his birthday wishes. In her defence, Preity said she doesn’t use her phone regularly as she is a ‘present’ mother to four-year-old twins, daughter Gia and son Jai.

When   was asked about her hiatus and making a comeback with Batwara 1947, the actress said motherhood kept her away from cinema and her children needed her the most while growing up. Zinta added that she enjoyed spending time with Gia and Jai.

Before starting the next phase of the game, Preity made an adorable revelation. She told Bachchan that Gia and Jai love him the most. The reason is his iconic children’s song, Mere Paas Aao Mere Dosto from Mr Natwarlal. Preity said, “Mere bacche aapka voh gaana sunte hai, and they say, “Mom, sher wala gaana.” The actress admitted that she often listens to the song and her children also started enjoying it.

The film is inspired by the Urdu play titled Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya O Jamyai Nai, which is regarded as one of the most impactful plays based on the impact that the Partition of India had on people. Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya O Jamyai Nai is written by Asghar Wajahat. The play is set in Lahore shortly after Partition in 1947. The movie also stars Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol and Kanika Kapur. Aamir is producing Batwara 1947. Rajkumar Santoshi is the director. The film releases on August 14.
