Once again, money is going to be showered on many players in the IPL auction. Many players will see high bids in the auction to be held in Abu Dhabi on 16th December. But even before this, Kavya Maran, owner of IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad, has decided to give a huge amount to a player who is currently banned from playing in IPL. This player is England’s ODI and T20 captain Harry Brook, who is not a part of the IPL auction this time.
Even before the auction to be held on December 16, a big news has come regarding England’s tournament The Hundred. An auction is to be organized in March before the next season of this league, which will happen for the first time in the short history of this tournament. On the lines of IPL, before the auction, all the 8 teams of the league have got the opportunity to retain their respective players and in this, their franchise has decided to retain Brook.
Explosive right-handed batsman Harry Brook was the captain of Northern Superchargers in the last two seasons and will remain in this franchise for the next season also. The only difference is that like Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL, the ownership of Northern Superchargers in The Hundred is now in the hands of Kavya Maran’s Sun Group and the name of the franchise has been changed to ‘Sunrisers Leeds’. Sunrisers Leeds has retained Brook for 4,70,000 pounds i.e. about Rs 5.62 crore.
