Senior Dietician Palaya Sharma Told that after opening the fast of Karva Chauth, first one should start eating with light and hydrating items. You can open your fast with a glass of water or coconut water by eating 1 to 2 dates or figs. After this you can take some milk or curd, it will give energy and cooling effect to the body. Fruits like pomegranate, papaya, apple, banana or seasonal food are also good, as well as some dry fruits can be taken.
Always should always eat light and balance in dinner like bread, lentils, cheese or gram Rajma like protein sources, seasonal vegetables and salads. Immediately after opening the fast, very fried, oily, spicy or heavy food such as pakoras, puri, samosa or more sweet should be avoided, because it can cause acidity, gas and heaviness in the stomach. Drinking cold drinks and fiji drinks should also be avoided. Keep in mind that do not eat a lot of food together in a day, eat lightly first and have correct dinner after 20 to 30 minutes.
