On this special day, married women observe Nirjal Vrat, praying for the long life and happy married life of their husbands. Pooja thali also has special significance during Karva Chauth fast. What should be included in the plate?

The fast of Karva Chauth is considered incomplete without some special things. These include a lamp of ghee or mustard oil, roli, kumkum, rice, sandalwood, kajal, karwa, sweets, fruits, dry fruits, camphor, honey, incense, flowers (red and yellow), raw milk, sugar, pure ghee, curd, a wooden stool, money and a special sieve.

How to decorate Karva Chauth thali?

The puja thali should be decorated in a traditional manner on Karva Chauth, as the thali is considered an important part of the fast and puja. Therefore, you can use copper, brass or steel plate on this day. You can also decorate it with rangoli or roli. If you are decorating the thali yourself, make a satiya (circle) from the roli. Then, place all the puja ingredients on the thali, which will make your thali look very beautiful.

There will be four auspicious times for worship on Karva Chauth-

  • First from 6:19 am to 1:13 pm
  • Second from 11:45 am to 12:31 pm
  • Third from 3:22 pm to 4:48 pm
  • Evening puja timings are from 5:57 pm to 7:11 pm.
