This year the fast of Karva Chauth will be observed on 10th October. This fast is observed for the long life and good health of the husband. On this day, women observe Nirjala fast from sunrise to moonrise. According to beliefs, this fast is not only to strengthen the relationship between husband and wife, but it is also considered a symbol of trust and love. Importance of Solah Shringaar on Karva Chauth

It is believed that by doing Solah Shringar on Karva Chauth, the blessings of Karva and Parvati remain on the fasting women. Avoid wearing clothes of these colors on Karva Chauth

Women should avoid wearing black, white or any dark colored clothes on Karva Chauth. Wearing yellow, red or green clothes is considered auspicious. Apart from this, one should observe Nirjala fast on this day and avoid using any sharp object.

Karva Chauth 2025 worship method

After fasting for the whole day, Karva Chauth puja is performed in the evening. Karva (earthen pot), a lamp, rice, sweets, water and roli (sindoor) are kept in a thali. Women wear sixteen adornments and sit together to listen to the story.

After listening to the katha, women worship Karva and earthen lamps. Water, sweets and Dakshina are offered on Karwa. Then, the moon is awaited. Arghya is offered after looking at the moon through a sieve and then the fast is broken by drinking water from the husband’s hand.
