Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela’s untitled love story finally has a release date. After much back and forth, the Anurag Basu directorial is set to arrive in theatres next year. The film has been in the limelight ever since it was announced, particularly for the fresh pairing of Kartik and Sreeleela. However, the makers are yet to finalise the title for the intense romance drama, which was originally announced as Aashiqui 3.

On Thursday, October 15, the makers of Anurag Basu directorial announced the official release date. Backed by Bhushan Kumar, the film will be arriving in theatres on April 30, 2027. The project had generated considerable hype among fans after its behind the scenes clips, featuring in a bearded look, went viral on the internet.
Anurag, who his known for bringing complex relationship dynamics to the screen, is expected to go all out with this Kartik and Sreeleela starrer. His last directorial, Metro In Dino, was praised for presenting different stages of romantic relationships.
For Sreeleela, who gained nationwide fame with her dance number Kissik in Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, will be making her Hindi debut with the yet to be titled project. On the other hand, Kartik will be returning to the intense romantic space after movies like Satyaprem Ki Katha, Love Aaj Kal, and Akaash Vani.

Why Did The Film Face Delay?
Anurag Basu’s untitled love story was initially planned for a Diwali 2025 release but has been pushed back several times since. Industry chatter linked the delay to the success of Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara, with makers reportedly wary of another intense musical romance arriving too soon.
However, Anurag dismissed rumours of a rewrite to avoid similarities with Saiyaara, attributing the delay to scheduling differences. The film also remains without a title, as the Aashiqui franchise rights lie with the Bhatt brothers.

Kartik Aaryan has a packed 2027 lined up. First up is the fantasy comedy Naagzilla, directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and backed by Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films. Originally scheduled for August 14, 2026, it will now hit theatres on Valentine’s Day weekend, February 12, 2027.
He will next be seen in Captain India, now directed by Shimit Amin after Hansal Mehta’s exit, arriving on August 13, 2027. He also reunites with Kabir Khan for a sports drama inspired by a true story, playing a kickboxing coach, with a mid-2027 release being targeted.
