Actor Kartik Aaryan visited Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja on Wednesday to seek Lord Ganesha’s blessings, carrying with him the National Film Award he recently received for Best Actor.
In a video from his visit, Kartik is seen placing the prestigious award at the feet of Lalbaugcha Raja before folding his hands in prayer and bowing his head. The actor was dressed casually in a blue kurta paired with white bottoms.
Speaking about the visit, Kartik described the occasion as a special moment for his entire family.
“It’s a very happy moment for my entire family. I am very happy. I have come to seek blessings of Bappa. I got the National Film Award, and after that visiting Lalbaugcha Raja, it feels great,” he said.
Kartik received the National Film Award for Best Actor on Tuesday for his performance as Paralympic gold medallist Murlikant Petkar in the 2024 biographical sports drama Chandu Champion.
Following the ceremony, the actor shared a video on Instagram showing him receiving the honour from President Droupadi Murmu. In an emotional note accompanying the post, Kartik reflected on his journey from Gwalior and the dream that eventually led him to one of Indian cinema’s major acting honours.
He recalled his journey as a “mumma’s boy from Gwalior” who dared to dream of becoming an actor despite coming from an environment where such ambitions were often dismissed.
Kartik described receiving the National Award as a moment he had dreamed of and said he remained “numb with excitement and nervousness” after experiencing it.
He also expressed gratitude to director Kabir Khan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala for trusting him with the role of Murlikant Petkar, whom he described as India’s first Paralympic gold champion.
The actor’s visit to Lalbaugcha Raja came shortly after the National Award ceremony, combining a major professional milestone with a personal expression of gratitude and faith.
