A minor murdered his 19-year-old friend in Bagalkot, Karnataka. The reason was to falsely boast about the beating. When questioned on this, the accused attacked with a knife with a key chain. He is now in police custody.
Bagalkot: A shocking incident has come to light from Terdal town of Bagalkot district of Karnataka. Here a minor boy murdered his own friend. The only reason was that he had boasted to his girlfriend and friends that he had beaten 19 year old Rahul Saptsagar. When Rahul questioned this false statement, the minor took his life.
The deceased has been identified as 19 year old Rahul Saptsagar. It is being told that there was a minor altercation between the two on the day of Holi. After this, the minor boy, in order to create a stir among his girlfriend and friends, said that he had beaten Rahul. This news reached Rahul through friends.
Questioning false boast proved costly
To talk about this, Rahul called that minor boy to Siddheshwar temple in Terdal yesterday. During the conversation the argument between the two escalated. Other friends present there tried to intervene, but they failed. During the fight, the accused minor stabbed Rahul on the neck with a small knife attached to his bike key-chain. The incident took place last night in the Siddheshwar temple complex of Terdal town. Deceased Rahul was a second year Diploma student. A case has been registered at Terdal police station and the police have taken the accused into custody.
As soon as information about the incident was received, Bagalkot SP Siddharth Goyal reached the spot and investigated. Speaking to the media, SP Siddharth Goyal said, “Rahul and the accused minor knew each other. They had a fight over some small issue while playing with colors on Holi. Later, the minor boasted to his friend (girlfriend) and other friends that he had beaten Rahul. The friends told this to Rahul. Rahul had called the accused to ask about the same. During this, the matter escalated so much that a scuffle broke out. Then The minor attacked Rahul with his key-chain knife. Rahul was dead by the time he was taken to the hospital. We are investigating the matter further.”
