More and more celebrities are taking to social media to back the students who are protesting after the NEET examination leak. After actors Salman Khan, Kamal Haasan, Alia Bhatt, and Varun Dhawan shared their concerns, actress Kareena Kapoor and former actress Twinkle Khanna have posted their thoughts about the ongoing protests on social media. While Kareena shared that she couldn’t ignore the voices of the youngsters, Twinkle wrote that she was proud to be part of a country that allowed young people to voice their concerns. Since Monday, July 20, students and other protestors have been marching in cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru to demand accountability after the exam papers were leaked.

On Instagram, who is married to actor Akshay Kumar, shared several black and white photos of young people, including several brave women, who led the protests. In one image, a young woman was single-handledly standing in front of a police van holding protestors so it would not move. In another, a young woman was seen shielding other male protestors.

Twinkle who has authored the books The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad and Mrs Funnybones Returns wrote, “Proud to belong to a country where our young people still have the courage to dissent, to push back, to brave tear gas and batons. The sad part is that they have to.” The former actress is mother to a son, Aarav, who is 23, and a daughter, Nitara, who is 13.
Kareena Kapoor stands with young people
Crew star Kareena started her Instagram note saying she had been thinking about this for a few days, but she could not sit quiet any more. She stated, “The voices of so many young people asking to be heard are impossible to ignore… and they shouldn’t be.”

The Bollywood star, who is mother to young sons Taimur and Jehangir with her husband, actor Saif Ali Khan, shared that everyone knows what education means to a child and how it gives them confidence and hope. It also gives families proof that tomorrow can be better than today.
“But education only works if children believe in it. And they stop believing the moment they suspect that honesty, hard work and merit don’t actually count,” the actress added. Earlier in the day, Kareena’s stepdaughter shared the poem “Where the Mind is Without Fear” written by Rabindranath Tagore on her Instagram Stories. The 1913 poem was penned before India’s independence.
