Kapil Sharma is set to return with the fifth season of The Great Indian Kapil Show, with Bollywood star Ajay Devgn and the cast of Drishyam: The Conclusion featuring in the season premiere.
The opening episode, scheduled to stream on Netflix on September 26 at 8 pm, will bring Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Jaideep Ahlawat together with director Abhishek Pathak for an evening of comedy and candid conversations.
The episode marks Ajay’s return to Kapil Sharma’s comedy show as he prepares for the October 2 theatrical release of Drishyam: The Conclusion, the third and final instalment of the Hindi franchise.
The premiere will also feature Jaideep Ahlawat joining Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda for a dance with their revived Sona and Mona 2.0 act. Sunil Grover, meanwhile, will add to the entertainment with his mimicry of Ajay Devgn.
Season 5 comes after a six-month break and will once again feature Kapil Sharma alongside Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Archana Puran Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu. New episodes will stream every Saturday at 8 pm on Netflix.
Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn reprises his role as Vijay Salgaonkar in Drishyam: The Conclusion. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film also stars Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, Rajat Kapoor, Prakash Raj and Jaideep Ahlawat.
The film has also drawn attention for taking a separate narrative route from the Malayalam Drishyam 3, which stars Mohanlal. At the trailer launch in Goa on September 9, Pathak said the Hindi film is based on a completely different script that was developed over nearly two-and-a-half years and does not follow the storyline of the Malayalam third instalment.
