According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the prequel to the 2022 hit Kantara collected an impressive Rs 39 crore on its second Saturday and Rs 39.75 crore on Sunday, taking its second weekend total to a staggering Rs 100 crore. On Monday (October 13), though, the film experienced a noticeable drop, managing to earn only Rs 13.50 crore, which brought its total domestic collection to Rs 451.90 crore.
Despite the dip, Kantara Chapter 1 has outperformed several major blockbusters. The film has surpassed the lifetime earnings of Rajinikanth’s Jailer (Rs 348.55 crore), Prabhas’ Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire (Rs 406 crore), Ayaan Panday’s Saiyaara (Rs 329 crore), and even S.S. Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Beginning (Rs 420 crore). It now stands as one of the highest-grossing Indian films of 2025, second only to Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, which still leads with an impressive Rs 601.54 crore.
