Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut is once again in the eye of a social media storm after an old interview, in which she spoke about her “ideal partner,” resurfaced online. The clip has gone viral against the backdrop of the ongoing controversy surrounding her recent remarks on Hindu women, relationships and interfaith marriages. The renewed attention comes after Kangana grabbed attention for her comments, sparking a major debate with many netizens who drew an indirect connection to actor Sonakshi Sinha. Sonakshi tied the knot with actor Zaheer Iqbal in 2024 under the Special Marriage Act.
Kangana’s viral throwback interview
Kangana’s old interview with News24 resurfaced on August 4. In the clip shared on social media, she speaks about the qualities she wants in her future life partner. She expresses that she’d wish to settle down in her early 30s and lead a “normal life.” Kangana says in the clip, “I already told you, early 30s aur agar mere baare mein janta bhi nahi ho, I am fine with that because I want to have a very normal life with my guy.”
Kangana also joked about her cooking skills and said she likes to cook a lot of different dishes. “I make nice chicken, different curries like chicken korma and chicken makhani and whole Indian food and Mughlai food,” she added.
Sonakshi Sinha’s like on Kangana’s comments

On Monday, Kangana had shared a selfie video about how her own political and religious beliefs had changed over the years. She said in the video that many women in the film industry who are Hindu are apolitical until they meet men whom she described as “Islamist” through marriage or friendship.

“I’ve seen and known a lot of Hindu daughters in the film industry closely. They’re Hindu, but they don’t have any thought process about politics. They’re usually very neutral,” said Kangana. “But as soon as they come in contact with Islamic people, whether it’s through marriage or friendship, their thinking instantly becomes so defined. They become Leftist extremists,” she added.
Sonakshi’s interfaith marriage
Sonakshi Sinha has previously responded to speculation regarding her marriage, stating that neither she nor Zaheer Iqbal converted religions. According to the couple, they married under the Special Marriage Act, 1954, which allows people of different religions to marry without converting to each other’s faith.
