Kangana Ranaut Reacts To Pune Fort Murder Case: “Parents Cannot Be Blamed”

Kangana Ranaut, weighing in on the Pune fort murder case, has said families should not be held responsible for the actions of their children, pointing instead to the influence of social media, artificial intelligence, and personal relationships in shaping young people’s behaviour.

The BJP MP and actor shared her views on Instagram Stories as investigators continue probing the death of 26-year-old businessman Ketan Agarwal, whose case took a dramatic turn after initially being treated as an accidental trekking fall.

What Did Kangana Ranaut Say About Pune Fort Murder Case?

In her Instagram Stories post, Kangana wrote that simply looking at a family, home, or set of parents offers no real certainty about how their children have actually been raised. She argued that what matters more is who or what is shaping a young person’s mindset, whether through social media, artificial intelligence, or real-life influences and company.

She further stated that parents cannot reasonably be blamed in today’s environment, where people often live multiple parallel versions of themselves. According to her, individuals now carefully curate how they are perceived publicly, prioritising image over authentic feelings or identity, which she said makes it unfair to judge families based on the actions of their children.

More Details On Pune Fort Murder Case

Kangana’s comments come as investigators continue examining the death of Ketan Agarwal, who died on June 18 after falling nearly 400 feet into a gorge at Lohagad Fort in Pune. The incident was initially reported as an accidental fall that occurred during a trek.

According to police, Ketan’s fiancée, Siya Goyal, initially told investigators that he had slipped while attempting to take photographs near the fort’s edge. However, a closer examination of CCTV footage from the area revealed a man wearing a hoodie despite the 33-degree heat, allegedly following the couple shortly before Ketan’s fall. The individual was later identified as 22-year-old Chetan Chaudhary.

Police allege that Siya and Chetan were in a relationship but had chosen not to call off her engagement to Ketan. During questioning, Chetan reportedly told investigators that Siya did not want to elope, fearing it would bring shame to her family.

Investigators further allege that Siya had repeatedly encouraged Ketan to visit Lohagad Fort in the weeks before his death, and believe the alleged murder took place on June 18.

Both Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary are currently in police custody, and the investigation remains ongoing.
