Kangana Ranaut has given her two cents on the ongoing row over the controversial remarks made by Tamil Nadu LoP Udhayanidhi Stalin about Trisha Krishnan. Extending her support to Trisha, Kangana stated that hurling filthy abuses and cracking vulgar jokes in public is not acceptable. The Queen actor also affirmed that the arrest of Udhayanidhi Stalin will set a good precedent. Earlier, Chinmayi Sripaada and Kushboo Sundar criticised the politician for what he said.

Taking to her Instagram Story, Kangana Ranaut sided with Trisha Krishnan. She expressed that a civilised society cannot be accepting of demeaning jokes. She wrote, “Public display of filthy abuses, double meaning obscene and vulgar jokes is not acceptable to any civilised society.”
She further added that Udhayanidhi Stalin going to jail will set a good example for the future. “Mr Stalin was sent to jail for the offence, he might be out on bail by now but its a good precedent,” she said, signing off with a thumbs up emoji.
Kangana’s reaction came shortly after Udhayanidhi Stalin was released on bail hours after his arrest earlier today.

Prior to Kangana, slammed the comments, stating that political leaders should stay focused on real public issues rather than pulling women into political slugfests. She pointed out that the real problem wasn’t the crowd’s inappropriate sloganeering itself, but the fact that an even more offensive remark was made in return.
Khushbu Sundar also came down hard on the remarks. She said turning women into political weapons exposed a toxic culture within politics. Khushbu further demanded that Udhayanidhi issue a public, unconditional apology to Trisha.

DMK’s Tamil Nadu Leader of Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin sparked controversy on August 3, 2026, after making a double-meaning remark seemingly referencing Trisha Krishnan during a Cauvery water dispute protest in Thanjavur.
When DMK workers below the stage began chanting Trisha’s name, Udhayanidhi smirked and made a suggestive comment before quickly clarifying he meant the Cauvery river, not the actress.
TVK workers filed a police complaint, and an FIR was registered, following which Udhayanidhi was arrested from his residence on August 4, despite an anticipatory bail plea in the Madras High Court. The court directed police to release him on station bail the same day after questioning, ordering him to cooperate with the probe. Udhayanidhi called the case fabricated, calling the arrest ‘a comedy’.
