Television actress Aditi Sharma secretly tied the knot with her longtime beau Abhineet Kaushik on November 12, 2024. The news of the wedding surfaced nearly six months later when he accused her of cheating on him with Samarthya Gupta. Now, as per the latest development in the matter, Aditi has filed a domestic violence complaint against her husband and his family. The actress registered an FIR against Abhineet, mother-in-law Urmila Kaushik (65), and sister-in-law Kirti Kaushik (29) on July 31 at Goregaon Police Station. Reportedly, the police have initiated an investigation based on her complaint.

As per NDTV’s report, domestic violence, assault, verbal abuse, questioning her character and misusing her bridal jewellery. The actress told the police in a statement that she met Abhineet in 2021 during a virtual acting class and they grew close. Further, Sharma observed that after marriage, Abhineet’s behaviour towards her changed. In 2025, an argument over coffee escalated to verbal abuse.

In her complaint, Aditi added that Abhineet turned suspicious and started checking her phone, accused her of having an affair, and had also stopped her from talking to her parents.
Besides this, Aditi said in her police statement that her mother-in-law held custody of her bridal jewellery, including gold chains, rings, a diamond ring, mangalsutra and bangles. During arguments, she told her mother-in-law and sister-in-law sided with Abhineet and harassed her. Based on these allegations, Goregaon Police launched an investigation.

Aditi and Abhineet’s marriage has been making headlines since 2025. His lawyer told India Forums that he had summoned police when mutual friends informed him about ’s visits in his absence and the actress called their marriage invalid. The lawyer said, “Aditi’s father slapped Abhineet and Aditi came in between toh usko bhi lagg gaya.”
The portal claimed that Abhineet saw Aditi leaving Samarthya’s apartment one morning. In a statement to India Forums, he revealed Sharma and her parents threatened him and said the marriage was not valid since there was no certificate to prove. “Ultimatum diya ke ‘do din ke andar Bombay chhodna hai aur main Bombay return nahi aa sakta,” he claimed. Back then, Aditi denied calling the wedding ‘invalid’.
