Kajol says kids Nysa and Yug can’t watch her cry on-screen; prefer films like Ajay Devgn’s ‘Golmaal’

From ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ to ‘Baazigar’, Kajol has ruled hearts with her unforgettable performances and charm for over three decades. Known for her emotional depth and comic timing, she’s now stepping into something completely new—horror. Her upcoming film ‘Maa’ sees her battling dark forces as a fierce mother. But while fans are intrigued, Kajol’s children have some hilarious feedback for her choice of roles.

Kajol’s kids react to her horror debut
‘Maa’ is Kajol’s first horror film, and judging by the trailer, it’s intense. A scene even shows her character being tortured, her bones being broken. But her children, 14-year-old Yug and 22-year-old Nysa, had strong reactions. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Kajol revealed, “Nysa might not. She is like me, doesn’t like horror.”

The ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ actress further said, “They have always had opinions. Fortunately or unfortunately, that opinion has not changed. They are very clear about it, ‘We can’t watch you crying on screen; you should do films like papa does. Do Golmaal!’”

She added jokingly, “They want me to do films that only make them laugh, and there is nobody crying, no glycerine is used, and nothing happens to me. I wonder what is this film where nothing happens to me, and I have to do nothing. Why am I in this film?”

From ‘Helicopter Eela’ to real-life mum moments
This isn’t the first time Kajol has taken on a motherly role. She previously played a helicopter parent in ‘Helicopter Eela’. Reflecting on her own parenting style she said, “I used to be an Eela, but not anymore; I am much calmer and cooler. The kids grow up and have their own ideas and opinions—Touchwood that they do.”
