Actress Kajal Aggarwal, who portrays Mandodari in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, has expressed pride in being part of the film, saying that some projects are measured by the magnitude of their stories rather than the length of an actor’s role.
In a social media post on Saturday, Kajal said that although her role may be small, she feels honoured to be associated with a story deeply rooted in India’s culture, history and collective identity.
“It is an immense moment of pride to be associated with a magnum opus like Ramayan, in any capacity. @worldoframayana @ramayanamovie. Albeit my role may be small, being part of a story that is so deeply woven into our culture, our history and our very existence, and being associated with a phenomenal team of such passionate and dedicated artists and technicians, truly fills my heart (sic),” she wrote.
The actress expressed gratitude to Namit Malhotra and Nitesh Tiwari for giving her the opportunity to be part of the project. She also praised her co-stars, describing their dedication, talent and commitment as inspiring.
Kajal said some films are not measured by the length of a role or the minutes spent on screen, but by the scale of the story and the passion behind its making. She also described it as a privilege to be associated with something rooted in collective faith and divinity.
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone for showering this beautiful piece of our cultural heritage with so much love, and for embracing my little yet meaningful character with such warmth and affection. Some associations are truly bigger than the role itself. Ramayan will always be one of them,” she concluded.
