Jurassic World: Rebirth has officially stomped its way past the Rs 50 crore milestone at the Indian box office, cementing its position as one of the biggest Hollywood hits of the summer. The Scarlett Johansson-led dinosaur actioner earned an estimated Rs 3.17 crore on Day 6 (Wednesday), bringing its total India net collection to Rs 50.87 crore.
Despite a 29.56% dip in collections from Tuesday, the film continued to draw audiences and remained a top choice at multiplexes nationwide. Its India gross now stands at an impressive Rs 57.25 crore.
The Gareth Edwards-directed sequel has outperformed most Hollywood titles released in India this year, becoming only the third summer import to cross Rs 50 crore after Tom Cruise ’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning which earned Rs 67.51 crore and Brad Pitt ’s motorsport drama F1 which netted Rs 58.33 crore.
July is shaping up to be a strong month for English-language films at the Indian box office. According to Sacnilk, 17 Hollywood releases have collectively grossed over Rs 110 crore in India so far this month—with Jurassic World : Rebirth and F1 contributing the lion’s share of that total.
