Dwayne Johnson has dropped the first official trailer for Jumanji: Open World bringing back the team including Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillian for the final chapter in the comedy-adventure franchise. The trailer dropped with the tagline, “One. Last. Game. The final countdown begins.” While fans are happy with the trailer, some are worried that the film’s clash with Avengers: Doomsday might affect its box-office rakings.
Set for a Christmas release, raises the stake by bringing the perils of the game to the real world. Unlike previous films where the characters were transported into the world of the game, Open World flips it on its head and sees Jumanji, and all its horrors, escape the console and bleed into the real world. The official synopsis of the film reads, “This Christmas, Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan are reunited in Jumanji: Open World, the hilarious final installment of the globally beloved action-adventure trilogy. Our heroes have escaped the perilous jungles of Jumanji before, but this time Jumanji breaks free of its console, unleashing its chaos into our world.”

As soon as the trailer dropped, fans were quick to react, with many sharing hilarious reactions like “I’m guessing Awkwafina and Nick Jonas aren’t going to be in this one?”. One fan wrote, “The actors how they were able to keep a straight face in every scene is just mindboggling lol. Surely they were just laughing constantly during every take.” However, another fan pointed out, “Nice but Clashing with DoomsDay in December… is that good option?” A third fan seemed confident though, writing, “Jumanji is one of the franchise that keeps getting it right. The first two were solid, so my expectations for this one are already high.”

While Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to hit cinemas a week earlier on December 18, giving it a valuable head start, Jumanji: Open World will bank on the festive holiday rush and its broad family appeal to carve out its own audience.
