JSW Jaecoo J5 Spotted: Exteriors And Interiors Revealed

The Jaecoo J5-based SUV will be positioned as a mid-size SUV in JSW’s portfolio. While the SUV is fully camouflaged in the spyshots, we can still spot some interesting details. One key highlight is the functional grille with vertical slats, confirming that it is the ICE version. Moreover, it gets sleek LED headlamps surrounded by LED DRLs. The SUV in the spyshot doesn’t have any housing for the foglamps, which could mean they’re omitted from the final model as well.

On the sides, we can see the SUV with traditional door handles rather than the trending flush-type ones. The Jaecoo J5 rides on 18-inch alloys internationally. At the rear, we can see slim LED wraparound tail lamps.

Interior

Inside, we can spot a large vertical infotainment unit, likely a 13.2-inch unit seen on the international-spec model. Along with that, the SUV also gets a small 8.8-inch digital driver’s display integrated in the dash. Internationally, the SUV offers features such as dual-zone climate control, a Sony sound system, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, a powered tailgate, ventilated seats, and more. We expect JSW to carry the same suite of features with the India-spec model.

Safety-wise, the SUV sold globally comes with seven airbags, a 540-degree camera, ADAS, TPMS, and other features.

Powertrain

The ICE-powered Jaecoo J5-based SUV is expected to come with turbo petrol and strong hybrid powertrain options. Internationally, it is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine (156 bhp & 275 Nm) and a 1.5-litre turbo petrol strong-hybrid powertrain paired with a 1.83 kWh lithium-ion battery, producing 224 bhp & 295 Nm. Transmission duties are handled by either a 7-speed DCT or a CVT.
