New Delhi: KL Rahul’s impressive innings came to an unfortunate end on Saturday after Josh Tongue bowled a beautiful delivery to get rid of the right-hander during India’s second innings on Day 4 of Edgbaston Test.
Rahul, who scored a brilliant half-century contributing in swelling India’s overall lead, succumbed in front of a sensational ball bowled by Tongue that uprooted the middle stump. Rahul played a fierce knock of 55 runs off 84 deliveries which included as many as 10 boundaries to take India ahead on the fourth day.
With already a lead of 180 runs in the pocket, India managed to cross the 300-run mark with ease during Rahul’s presence on the crease. Rahul’s wicket was the only one England managed to take during the first session of the second-last day.
