New Delhi: Jos Buttler etched his name in the history books by becoming only the second English batter to complete 13000 runs in T20 cricket. Buttler achieved the significant milestone during his team’s Vitality T20 Blast encounter against Yorkshire. Buttler who shined with a half century in the game, played a pivotal role in his side Lancashire’s 21-run win.
Notably, the right-handed batter is only the second English player after Alex Hales to achieve the big milestone and the seventh overall in the world. Flamboyant West Indies batter Chris Gayle leads the elusive list with more than 14000 runs in T20 cricket while it has the likes of Virat Kohli, Shoaib Malik among some other players.

In a total of T20 matches, Buttler has scored 93 half-centuries and 8 centuries and is one of the few batters with a formidable record in the shortest. Meanwhile, Lancashire, batting first, scored 174 runs in the stipulated 20 overs on board with a push from Buttler’s half-century. His brilliant knock included eight boundaries and three sixes.
Interestingly, Buttler happens to be the only active player in T20 cricket to have 13000-plus runs in the format. The 2025 year has been fabulous for the star batter as he has scored nine fifty-plus scores in the current year. Apart from the Vitality Blast, the batter also plays in the IPL, BBL, BPL, SA20 and ILT20.
