John Abraham, Aditya Dhar Eye Operation Sindoor Film Title, Over 30 Applications Filed

After Operation Sindoor, many Bollywood producers are rushing to register film titles based on the mission. The response to the Pahalgam attack has sparked a wave of patriotism, and filmmakers want to bring that emotion to the big screen.

Bollywood producers eyeing Operation Sindoor film title

According to Hindustan Times, the film industry bodies like IMPPA and IFTPC have witnessed a surge in title registration requests inspired by Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam terror attack, as producers race to bring the story to screen.

On Wednesday, the Indian Armed Forces carried out Operation Sindoor, a strategic strike targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack. According to Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, nine key terror sites were precisely hit and neutralised, with careful planning to avoid civilian casualties or damage to public infrastructure.

According to Suresh Amin of the IFTPC, producers began flooding the organisation with title registration requests starting from 3 PM on Wednesday.

“IFTPC is flooded by all the applications from producers to secure a title about Operation Sindoor. All the titles which we have got are around the mission only. We have received around 10-12 applications for the title, all relevant to the operation,” Suresh told Hindustan Times. “The applications are from big production houses of Bollywood. The titles are for films as well as web series,” he added.

Film industry bodies receive 30+ applications

As per reports, IFTPC officials have started asking filmmakers not to send in title requests related to Operation Sindoor. Meanwhile, IMPPA has already received 20–25 such applications in just two days. A report by Bar and Bench also mentioned that Reliance Industries Limited was the first to apply for a trademark on ‘Operation Sindoor’ under Class 41, which includes entertainment and media services.

“IMPPA received close to 25 applications to register the title in just 2 days. Out of the applications, two are for regional projects, and the rest are all in Hindi. We can’t deny anyone from sending an application. Now, it all depends on who sent in the application first. The title will go to that producer,” says Haresh Patel from IMPPA.

According to Hindustan Times, top names like John Abraham, Aditya Dhar, Mahaveer Jain, and Madhur Bhandarkar, along with major studios like Zee Studios, Reliance, and JP Films, have reportedly applied for titles linked to Operation Sindoor. Some of the title applications include names like Operation Sindoor, Operation Sindoor Magnum, Pahalgam: The Horrific Terror, The Pahalgam Terror, and Sindoor Operation.
